Interim Head of Finance / Finance Director

This interim Head of Finance position is the sole finance lead for an established Bristol business of approximately 25 employees and £5m annual turnover. The role is hybrid, with four days on-site per week, on an initial four to six month contract with an immediate start. The successful candidate will work alongside an in-house bookkeeper who handles payroll, and will report directly to the Owner/Managing Director, providing financial leadership, commercial insight and robust financial controls across the business.

The engagement is weekly-paid and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to commercial decision-making and business planning at a senior level within a small, collaborative environment. Sage 50 is the primary accounting platform in use.

• Own the finance function and lead all financial activities across the business
• Produce management accounts, cash flow forecasts and financial reports
• Support the Managing Director with commercial decisions and business planning
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and process improvement initiatives
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure ongoing compliance
• Collaborate with the in-house bookkeeper on day-to-day financial operations

• Proven experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance or Financial Controller in a Number 1 finance role
• Comfortable operating in a small business environment and managing a broad remit
• Commercially minded, hands-on and proactive in approach
• Proficient in Sage 50
• Available to start immediately and commit to four days per week on-site in Bristol
• Able to commit to a four to six month contract engagement
