Interim CFO | Hyper-Growth VC-Backed Fintech

This six-month interim engagement places a senior finance leader in the CFO seat at a VC-backed fintech generating approximately £150m in revenue across multiple international markets. Reporting to the CEO, the role covers the full scope of the finance function while a permanent hire is secured. The business is scaling rapidly and requires someone comfortable setting strategic direction while remaining close to the operational detail, including controls and reporting.

The immediate priority is strengthening the business's understanding of its financial performance, addressing gaps in processes and controls, and advising the leadership team on growth and investment decisions. A structured handover to the incoming permanent CFO is expected at the close of the engagement.

• Lead the finance function throughout the interim period, providing continuity to the CEO, board and leadership team
• Develop deeper visibility of business performance and its key drivers to support decision making
• Review and strengthen the financial controls framework as the business continues to scale
• Identify and address gaps in finance processes, reporting and team capability
• Advise on growth and investment decisions alongside the wider leadership team
• Prepare a clean and well-documented handover to the incoming permanent CFO

• CFO-level experience in a recognised scale-up with revenues exceeding £100m
• Background in VC-backed or high-growth environments with a focus on revenue growth
• Comfortable operating as a player-coach, strategic at leadership level and hands-on in the detail
• Demonstrated track record of maturing finance functions and controls through a scaling phase
• Fintech or financial services experience is advantageous
• Exposure to late-stage growth, exit preparation, or debt and equity financing is a bonus
