Interim CFO | VC-Backed Fintech

This is a six-month interim engagement covering the CFO seat at a VC-backed fintech generating significant revenue across multiple international markets. The business is scaling rapidly and the leadership team is commercially focused and hands-on. The Interim CFO will report directly to the CEO, lead the finance function, and provide continuity to the board while a permanent hire is recruited.

The immediate priority is deepening visibility of business performance and its key drivers, reviewing and strengthening financial controls, and identifying gaps in processes and reporting. The role requires someone comfortable operating as a player-coach, setting strategic direction while remaining close to the detail. A clean, well-documented handover to the permanent CFO is a defined deliverable of the engagement.

• Lead the finance function throughout the interim period, providing continuity to the CEO, leadership team and board
• Develop deeper visibility of business performance and its key drivers to support decision-making
• Review and strengthen the financial controls framework as the business scales
• Identify and address gaps in finance processes, reporting and capability
• Advise the leadership team on growth and investment decisions
• Deliver a clean, well-documented handover to the incoming permanent CFO

• CFO experience, or a senior number-two to a CFO within a recognised scale-up business
• Background in a VC-backed or high-growth environment with a focus on revenue growth
• Comfortable operating as a player-coach, both strategic and hands-on in the detail
• Demonstrated track record of maturing finance functions and controls as a business scales
• Fintech or financial services exposure desirable
• Experience of debt or equity financing, late-stage growth, or IPO preparation advantageous
