Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Part-Time

Greater Valley Health Center is seeking a part-time CFO to serve as the senior financial leader for the organisation. Working closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee, the CFO will oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, fund accounting, grant compliance, and internal controls. The role requires someone who can translate complex financial information clearly for varied audiences, including board members and external auditors.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to a CPA with experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or federally funded environments. The CFO will supervise finance staff and serve as the primary liaison with auditors, funding agencies, and state and federal reporting bodies, while supporting the long-term financial sustainability of a community-focused health organisation.

• Develop and oversee annual operating budgets, long-term financial plans, and forecasts
• Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenditures, and overall financial performance
• Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, fund accounting, accounts payable, and payroll review
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the CEO and Board
• Manage grant financial reporting, expenditure monitoring, and compliance with grant requirements
• Coordinate the annual independent audit and supervise, mentor, and support finance staff

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
• CPA designation required
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive financial management experience, including budgeting and financial analysis
• Experience with general ledger, fund accounting, and grant or government-funded programme compliance
• Healthcare, nonprofit, or community health centre background preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and computerised accounting systems, plus a valid Montana driver's licence
