GA Group's CFO Advisory Practice is building a bench of senior finance leaders for interim, project-based, and advisory engagements with middle-market and private equity-backed companies across Dallas and Houston.
GA Group's CFO Advisory Practice partners with middle-market and private equity-backed companies at critical stages of their business lifecycle. Professionals deployed through this practice serve in roles such as interim Controller or VP of Finance, supporting clients through leadership transitions, audit preparation, transaction readiness, reporting improvement, and finance transformation initiatives.
Engagements vary by client need and may involve stabilising a finance function during a leadership gap, supporting a newly acquired portfolio company, or leading systemic improvements to accounting processes, controls, and ERP systems. The role requires the ability to operate hands-on in fast-paced environments while building credibility quickly with executives, private equity sponsors, lenders, and auditors.
- Serve as interim VP of Finance or Controller for client organisations across varying engagement types.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, consolidations, and management reporting.
- Develop accurate reporting packages for executive leadership, boards, lenders, and private equity sponsors.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, working-capital analysis, and financial modelling.
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, documentation, and governance practices.
- Advise on U.S. GAAP technical matters and support transaction-related work including quality-of-earnings readiness, carve-out support, and post-close integration.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required; CPA strongly preferred.
- Progressive public accounting experience, ideally in audit, assurance, or transaction advisory.
- Meaningful in-house corporate finance or accounting leadership experience, including direct team responsibility.
- Experience supporting private equity-backed companies and working with PE sponsors, operating partners, or lender groups preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, internal controls, and audit support.
- Must reside in and be authorised to work in the Dallas or Houston, Texas area.
