Fractional Chief Financial Officer

FocusCFO® has expanded its operations into the Chicago market and is looking for senior financial professionals to join its fractional CFO network. Engagements focus on partnering directly with small and mid-size business owners to build sustainable company value through disciplined financial planning, cash flow oversight, and performance management. The model suits experienced CFOs who want control over their schedule while maintaining meaningful client relationships.

These are independent, non-W-2 engagements. Compensation is based on services delivered to clients. Joining requires an upfront licence investment, which provides access to FocusCFO's training resources, best-practice sessions, and a collaborative network of peers across the business.

• Partner with small and mid-size business owners to develop and execute strategic financial plans
• Manage cash flow planning and monitor financial performance against key metrics
• Provide operational finance support to improve business efficiency and profitability
• Advise owners and leadership teams on financial decisions and value-building initiatives
• Collaborate with peer CFOs across the FocusCFO network to share knowledge and best practices
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development within the FocusCFO community

• Decades of financial and operational leadership experience, ideally at CFO or equivalent level
• Demonstrated ability to work with small and mid-size business owners in an advisory capacity
• Comfort operating as an independent contractor under a licence-based engagement model
• Strong community orientation and genuine interest in helping business owners achieve their goals
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and self-direct workload effectively
• Willingness to make an upfront licence investment to join the FocusCFO platform
