Interim Chief Financial Officer
Interim CFO role supporting a high-growth Series B SaaS company through a 3-4 month engagement focused on capital raising, financial strategy, and scaling finance operations.
Cherry Bekaert's Recruiting and Staffing practice is seeking an experienced Interim CFO to support a rapidly growing Series B SaaS technology company through a pivotal expansion phase. The engagement starts at approximately 20 hours per week, with potential to scale to 35-40 hours, and runs for 3-4 months with the possibility of extension or conversion to a direct hire.
The successful candidate will guide financial strategy, lead capital raising activities, and strengthen financial operations and reporting. They will work closely with executive leadership, investors, and the board, while also mentoring the internal finance team and assessing systems infrastructure for scalability. Fintech or banking technology experience is highly regarded for this hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC.
- Partner with executive leadership to support capital raising and growth planning initiatives
- Develop investor-ready financial models, board presentations, and executive reporting packages
- Lead financial due diligence and coordinate with investors, bankers, legal counsel, and external stakeholders
- Build and maintain financial forecasts, cash flow analyses, and long-range growth scenarios
- Lead and mentor the finance team, including FP&A, Controller, and offshore accounting resources
- Evaluate finance systems and recommend ERP and technology enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability
- Prior experience as a CFO, Interim CFO, or senior finance executive in a high-growth organisation
- Required experience supporting a Series B SaaS company
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models, recurring revenue, and key financial performance metrics
- Demonstrated success with equity and/or debt financing, investor relations, and fundraising activities
- Extensive background in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and strategic finance
- Ability to work onsite in Charlotte, NC two to three days per week
