Chief Financial Officer (Part-Time) | Nonprofit

Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is seeking an experienced nonprofit finance leader to step into a part-time CFO role for a well-established, mission-driven organisation in North Portland. Operating at approximately 32 hours per week, the successful candidate will oversee all financial functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and grant drawdowns, while maintaining rigorous compliance and reporting standards.

The CFO will work closely with executive leadership to deliver financial planning and analysis, strategic recommendations, and budget oversight. They will also manage and mentor the finance team, lead annual audit processes, and administer the organisation's 401(k) plan. This is a hands-on role suited to a seasoned nonprofit finance professional who values both operational precision and organisational mission.

• Lead all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions across the organisation
• Oversee cash management, grant funding drawdowns, and financial compliance requirements
• Manage and mentor the finance team, strengthening internal controls and driving process improvement
• Direct annual audit preparation and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors
• Oversee monthly and year-end close processes, general ledger accuracy, and financial statement preparation
• Provide executive leadership with FP&A support, budget analysis, and strategic financial recommendations
• Administer the organisation's 401(k) plan and associated compliance activities

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 6 or more years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, including nonprofit finance
• Demonstrated experience managing audits, budgets, and complex grant-related funding processes
• Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams while maintaining accurate financial reporting
• Strong understanding of internal controls and nonprofit compliance requirements
