Fractional CFO at CFS

CFS is placing a Fractional CFO with a client organisation seeking senior financial oversight on a part-time or project basis. The engagement suits an experienced finance executive comfortable operating across both tactical accounting and executive advisory functions, helping small to mid-sized businesses build stronger financial infrastructure and prepare for sustainable growth.

The role operates with schedule flexibility of roughly 10 to 20 hours per week, with remote or hybrid working arrangements depending on client requirements. The CFO will work closely with ownership and senior leadership, delivering high-value financial expertise without a full-time commitment. Compensation is structured on an annualised equivalent basis, depending on scope and engagement structure.

• Oversee accounting and finance operations including month-end close, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Lead preparation and analysis of financial statements to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Provide strategic budgeting, KPI reporting, and margin improvement guidance to executive leadership
• Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and accounting systems
• Support mergers, acquisitions, or strategic initiatives with financial modelling and due diligence
• Mentor accounting staff to improve department efficiency and reporting accuracy

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred
• 10 or more years of progressive financial leadership, including CFO or Controller-level experience
• Strong grounding in GAAP compliance, cash flow management, and long-term financial planning
• Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct
• Demonstrated ability to operate in both hands-on and advisory capacities with executive stakeholders
