Fractional CFO

CFO Buzz places experienced finance leaders with fast-growing UK companies on a fractional or interim basis. Each placed CFO is supported by an embedded finance team that manages day-to-day accounting, allowing the CFO to focus entirely on strategic work. The firm is building a network of fractional CFOs with hands-on experience in VC-backed technology businesses.

This role involves serving as the strategic finance lead for one or more scaling tech companies, typically one to three days per week per client. Work spans financial modelling, fundraising preparation from seed through Series B and beyond, exit readiness, SaaS metrics analysis and oversight of the embedded finance team to maintain accurate, timely reporting.

• Act as strategic finance lead for one or more VC-backed technology companies, typically one to three days per week per client
• Build financial models, forecasts and board reporting materials that founders and investors rely on
• Prepare businesses for fundraising rounds, including data rooms, investor materials and due diligence support
• Lead exit readiness work covering financial clean-up, KPIs, governance and sale process support
• Advise founders on cash runway, pricing, unit economics and SaaS metrics such as ARR, churn, CAC and LTV
• Oversee the embedded finance team to ensure reporting is accurate and delivered on time

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Prior CFO or Finance Director experience within VC-backed technology companies
• Demonstrated track record of supporting a business through growth stages, ideally from early stage to meaningful revenue scale
• Hands-on experience with at least one funding round or exit, including M&A, trade sale or PE transaction
• Comfortable presenting to boards and investor groups
• Based in or within easy reach of London
