A fractional CFO opportunity to provide strategic financial leadership across a portfolio of mid-market clients in engineering, manufacturing, industrial services, and professional services, partnering with owners and executive teams.
Capital Lens is an advisory practice that partners with mid-market businesses navigating growth, transformation, acquisitions, and succession planning. As Fractional CFO, you will embed alongside business owners, CEOs, and executive teams to deliver senior financial leadership across a diverse client portfolio spanning engineering, manufacturing, industrial services, and professional services.
The role is hybrid and offers genuine flexibility and autonomy. You will help clients strengthen profitability, improve cash flow, enhance reporting frameworks, and support key commercial decisions, including banking and funding discussions, M&A, integrations, and ERP or business intelligence initiatives, without the overhead of a full-time hire.
- Serve as the primary financial advisor to business owners and executive teams across multiple client engagements.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning processes.
- Develop and present board and management reporting packs.
- Support strategic initiatives including acquisitions, integrations, and business transformations.
- Improve financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks across client businesses.
- Assist clients with banking, funding discussions, and stakeholder management.
- Prior experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or in a senior finance leadership role.
- Strong background in engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or service-based business environments.
- Demonstrated ability to influence business strategy and drive operational performance improvements.
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to boards, executives, and business owners.
- Commercial mindset with hands-on attitude and ability to challenge conventional approaches.
- Experience with M&A, integration, succession planning, or ERP/BI implementations is highly regarded.
