Fractional FD / CFO - Fast Growth Consumer Scale-Up - West Yorkshire

Better Placed is supporting a privately owned, high-volume consumer eCommerce business based in Yorkshire through its next growth phase. The company operates an established physical supply chain and is seeking a Fractional CFO to work closely with the founders, strengthening financial visibility and providing commercial insight across the business.

The engagement runs 1-2 days per week for an initial 3-6 month period, with the possibility of extension. Day rates are flexible depending on the candidate's experience. Consumer, retail, D2C, or eCommerce backgrounds are particularly relevant, especially where inventory and working capital complexity are factors.

• Strengthen management reporting and improve financial visibility across the business
• Improve forecasting, budgeting, and cash-flow management processes
• Develop meaningful commercial KPIs and performance reporting frameworks
• Provide deeper insight into margin, profitability, and working capital
• Support strategic and operational decision-making alongside the leadership team
• Review and improve the existing finance function, processes, and systems

• Proven track record as a CFO, FD, or senior finance leader in a growing, entrepreneurial business
• Background in consumer, eCommerce, retail, D2C, or product-led businesses
• Experience managing inventory and working capital complexity
• Commercial, hands-on, and pragmatic approach with the ability to work directly with founders
• Comfortable operating at both a strategic and detail-oriented level
