Managing Director, CFO Accounting Advisory

This Managing Director role sits within Baker Tilly's Office of the CFO practice, a fast-growing team focused on FP&A and finance transformation. The position involves partnering with CFOs, private equity sponsors, and executive teams to design and operate high-impact finance functions across industries including consumer products, technology, life sciences, and professional services.

The role spans client delivery, practice building, and business development. You will lead engagements covering interim FP&A leadership, financial modelling, management reporting design, KPI benchmarking, and dashboarding, while also helping shape the firm's broader capabilities and originating new client relationships within private equity and enterprise markets.

• Serve as a trusted adviser to CFOs, private equity sponsors, and executive teams on FP&A and finance transformation engagements.
• Lead complex client projects spanning budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, management reporting, and KPI development.
• Support PE-backed portfolio companies through value creation initiatives, including performance improvement and finance infrastructure build-out.
• Develop and standardise methodologies, tools, and frameworks to scale the firm's Office of the CFO capabilities.
• Originate and expand client relationships, particularly within private equity firms and their portfolio companies.
• Mentor and develop senior team members, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 10 to 15 or more years of relevant experience, ideally combining Big 4 or national consulting firm background with corporate FP&A or finance leadership roles.
• Direct experience working with private equity firms and PE-backed portfolio companies.
• CPA, CMA, CFA, or similar professional credentials strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated track record leading finance transformation or FP&A build-outs, including business development and revenue generation.
• Advanced financial modelling skills and strong understanding of PE reporting expectations and cash management.
