A Bay Area private equity and real estate investment firm is seeking an interim Fund CFO for an approximately 12-month engagement. The role spans fund accounting, management company accounting, investor relations, compliance, and HR oversight. The successful candidate will manage one internal staff member and report directly to the owner, working onsite in San Francisco two days per week at 30 to 40 hours per week.
The firm operates three multi-strategy funds with combined assets under management of approximately $700M. The engagement suits a senior finance professional who can operate both at a strategic level and hands-on as required.
- Oversee fund accounting and management company accounting across three multi-strategy funds
- Manage investor relations, including reporting and communications
- Ensure compliance obligations are met across all fund structures
- Oversee HR functions within the firm
- Manage one internal staff member and report directly to the owner
- Balance hands-on execution with high-level strategic oversight
- 10 or more years of fund and management company accounting experience at a private equity firm
- Prior experience at VP Finance or CFO level within a PE firm
- Demonstrated ability to operate both hands-on and at a strategic level
- Real estate fund accounting experience is highly desirable
- Open to a 12-month consulting engagement
- Able to work onsite in San Francisco two days per week
