Burkland is seeking a CFO Advisory Consultant to act as a long-term financial partner for clients operating under management services organisation and professional corporation (MSO/PC) structures. The consultant will own the full finance function month over month, including close, budgeting, forecasting, intercompany billing, cost allocations, and management fee settlements, while maintaining clear compliance guardrails between entities.

The role also involves advising CEOs and physician leadership on capital planning and growth strategy, leading board reporting and KPI dashboards, supporting fundraising and M&A modelling, and keeping fundamentals such as revenue cycle optimisation, cash flow, vendor controls, and audit readiness consistently sharp. Compensation is structured on a project or contract basis ranging from $71,000 to $340,000 depending on scope, experience, and duration.

  • Oversee monthly close, budgeting, and forecasting across the management company and affiliated PCs on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain clean MSO/PC economics including intercompany billing, cost allocations, management fee settlements, and entity compliance guardrails.
  • Advise the CEO and physician leadership on financial strategy, capital planning, and management fee execution.
  • Own the finance section of board meetings, including KPI dashboards and investor reporting.
  • Support fundraising and M&A processes including round sizing, scenario modelling, and investor communication.
  • Monitor revenue cycle performance, cash flow planning, vendor spend controls, and audit readiness.
Job Requirments
  • Direct MSO/PC experience including management fee arrangements, intercompany settlements, and practice-level unit economics.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in finance or operations, preferably in healthcare growth sectors such as digital health, telehealth, or behavioural health.

  • Experience advising through fundraising, M&A, or exit events; investment banking or corporate development background is advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with familiarity across fintech platforms such as QBO, Carta, Rippling, and Ramp.
  • MBA or CPA preferred; exceptional strategic judgement and communication skills required.
