An interim CEO role at Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness, a nonprofit behavioural health organisation, requiring strategic leadership, financial oversight, and board governance during a leadership transition.
Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness (WVCW) is a nonprofit providing behavioural health, addiction recovery, developmental disability, residential, crisis, prevention, and school-based services across Wallowa County. The interim CEO will provide executive leadership during a transition period, partnering with the Board of Directors and a multidisciplinary leadership team to maintain operational stability and advance strategic priorities.
The role covers strategic planning, clinical and operational oversight, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, community representation, and governance support. The position operates on a hybrid basis, with initial on-site onboarding followed by a flexible in-person and remote schedule aligned to organisational needs.
- Develop and execute the organisation's strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the executive leadership team, establishing goals and monitoring progress against key performance indicators.
- Oversee financial performance including budgets, revenue cycle, contracts, grants, and funding opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and organisational policies.
- Serve as primary liaison between management and the Board of Directors, providing timely performance reports and implementing board directives.
- Represent WVCW with government agencies, healthcare partners, community organisations, and the public to strengthen partnerships and advocate for behavioural health services.
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Behavioural Health, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum seven years of progressive executive or senior leadership experience in healthcare, behavioural health, or human services.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex organisations including financial oversight and strategic planning.
- Experience working with governing boards and reporting to a Board of Directors.
- Knowledge of behavioural health systems, Medicaid, Medicare, Oregon Health Authority regulations, and community mental health programmes.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check in line with federal guidelines.
