Interim Chief Executive Officer

Kirby Bates Associates is conducting a search for an Interim Chief Executive Officer to lead Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma Nursing) and its subsidiary entities. The role carries full responsibility for strategic direction, operational performance, and financial stewardship, with activities aligned to the mission, bylaws, and governance policies set by the Board of Directors.

The interim leader will advance Sigma's global reach and partnerships, manage multi-million-dollar budgets with complex revenue and philanthropic streams, and guide the organisation through restructuring and transformation. The engagement includes housing, transportation, regular travel home, and team support throughout the placement.

• Provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership across the enterprise and its subsidiaries
• Align organisational activity with board governance, mission, vision, and bylaws
• Manage multi-million-dollar budgets, revenue streams, and philanthropic assets
• Lead restructuring and transformation efforts to strengthen organisational performance
• Build and develop high-performing, accountable teams and a healthy organisational culture
• Oversee international partnerships, cross-cultural programmes, accreditation standards, and regulatory compliance

• Master's degree required; doctoral degree strongly preferred
• Background in nurse executive leadership, business administration, or nonprofit management
• Certification in Association Management (CAE) required or commitment to obtain within one certification cycle
• Proven senior executive leadership of a complex nonprofit or global multi-entity organisation
• Advanced financial skills covering budgeting, forecasting, reserves management, and long-term planning
• Demonstrated experience leading organisations through restructuring, transformation, and international growth
