Fractional Chief AI Officer - AI Transformation, Engineering Leadership

OneSeven Tech is building a bench of fractional CAIOs to support a growing pipeline of digital transformation engagements. The role operates as a technical partner to the CEO, leading AI strategy and implementation for traditional mid-market organisations with revenues of $50M or more. Clients span sectors such as paediatric home care, law firms, real estate, and private equity-backed businesses.

The ideal candidate bridges business vision and technical execution, moving beyond experimentation to deliver measurable outcomes including cost reductions, time savings, and revenue impact. Candidates currently active in senior roles who consult fractionally on the side are particularly well suited.

• Architect custom AI adoption frameworks tailored to non-tech mid-market businesses.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to operationalise AI across targeting, content, and revenue analytics.
• Lead client-facing AI transformation engagements directly with CEO and leadership teams.
• Personally audit code and architecture to ensure technical quality and alignment.
• Manage AI governance including risk management, bias controls, and information security considerations.
• Demonstrate clear ROI across cost reduction, operational efficiency, and revenue impact metrics.

• Proven track record leading AI strategy from discovery to deployment with measurable business outcomes.
• 10 or more years of engineering leadership experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, or equivalent.
• Currently operating in a fractional, interim, or advisory capacity with multiple successful engagements.
• Hands-on technical depth with the ability to audit code and architecture directly.
• Experience leading complex migrations from legacy systems to AI-integrated workflows.
• Outcome-oriented mindset with the ability to articulate and deliver measurable business value.
