Business Operations Contractor, Incubations (Contract)
A contract operations role focused on launching early-stage pilots and market tests for Airbnb's incubation projects, handling logistics, fieldwork, partner coordination, and capturing learnings to inform scaling decisions.
As a Business Operations Contractor within Airbnb's incubations team, you will own the end-to-end execution of early-stage pilots, turning concepts into live market tests. This includes sourcing partners, managing scheduling and logistics, conducting in-person fieldwork, and tracking multiple concurrent projects to ensure nothing slips.
You will recruit and vet participants, run on-site activities, and document customer conversations and pilot outcomes clearly enough that the team can make fast decisions on what to scale or discontinue. The role suits someone who thrives in ambiguous environments, moves quickly with limited resources, and communicates findings plainly and efficiently. This position is SF-preferred and on-site, but open to US-based candidates.
- Own logistics for getting pilots into market, including partner sourcing, scheduling, and location coordination
- Conduct in-person fieldwork at test sites such as homes, markets, or partner locations
- Track tasks, deadlines, and open items across several concurrent pilots and flag blockers early
- Recruit hosts, landlords, or tenants for specific test programmes in target markets
- Vet and onboard third-party partners, including running on-site training sessions
- Write up customer conversations and pilot results to support fast go or no-go decisions
- 6 to 10 years of experience in operations, growth, launch, consulting, or an early-stage startup environment
- Demonstrated ability to execute hands-on work in the field with limited structure or resources
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple ambiguous projects simultaneously
- Bias to action, preferring a rough test this week over a polished one next quarter
- Clear written communication skills, able to summarise learnings concisely for fast team decisions
- Comfortable cold-calling, travelling to sites, and doing whatever is needed to keep a test moving
