Interim Director, Communications (6-Month Contract)

PagerDuty seeks an Interim Director of Communications to join their global communications team during a high-growth period. You will report to the Chief Communications Officer and lead three internal professionals plus five global agencies. The role involves overseeing PR/Media Relations, Social Media, and Internal Communications whilst maintaining cohesive storytelling across all channels.

This dual-impact leadership position requires a seasoned communications leader with a flexible approach who thrives in fast-paced SaaS environments. You'll serve as a high-level strategist navigating platform narratives for media whilst keeping employees informed and inspired. The position is based in San Francisco with 2 days per week in office.

• Lead global PR and media strategy across regional agencies with monthly alignment calls
• Oversee quarterly research studies and executive ghostwriting on Agentic AI topics
• Drive internal communications including monthly Town Halls and CEO announcements
• Manage change communications for organisational shifts with brand voice oversight
• Execute high-impact media briefings and corporate awards calendar management
• Deliver comprehensive reporting on Share of Voice and competitor analysis

• 12+ years experience in Corporate Communications, PR, or External/Internal Communications
• 5+ years managing PR agencies and leading high-performing internal teams
• Proven executive coaching and C-suite ghostwriting experience
• Experience managing large-scale internal events and change management initiatives
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or equivalent
