Fractional CFO (2-3 days per week in person)

Sanderson King has been retained exclusively to place a Fractional CFO and Board Advisor for a well-regarded, founder-led UK hospitality business with interests across hospitality, wine and retail. The organisation already has a capable finance function led by a recently promoted Head of Finance, so the incoming CFO will focus on strategic oversight, governance and board partnership rather than day-to-day financial management.

Working approximately 2-3 days per week at the London HQ, the successful candidate will serve as a trusted sounding board for the CEO, provide independent financial challenge, and help the business navigate complexity as it enters a new phase of growth. The role carries a full-time equivalent value of circa £150k and is structured as a board-level appointment.

• Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO and Board, providing independent financial challenge and strategic guidance.
• Contribute to long-term business planning and support Board reporting on performance, risks and opportunities.
• Review and strengthen governance frameworks, controls and financial disciplines across the business.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and company secretarial requirements, working alongside auditors, legal counsel and tax advisers.
• Mentor and support the Head of Finance, providing oversight of budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes.
• Help shape the next phase of the organisation's growth and ensure the finance function is appropriately structured to meet business needs.

• Proven background as a CFO, Finance Director or Board Advisor with board-level experience.
• Comfortable working in founder-led or entrepreneurial environments, acting as a strategic partner to senior leadership.
• Strong governance and compliance knowledge, including experience with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Experience mentoring or developing finance teams and leaders.
• Commercially minded with the ability to navigate complex, multi-site or multi-interest business structures.
• Availability to commit to 2-3 days per week in person at a London HQ.
