Interim Chief Financial Officer

Lifepoint Health requires an interim CFO to step into financial leadership roles at affiliated hospital facilities on a short-term, as-needed basis. Assignments can range from one month to several months, with the expectation that the role holder will work closely with division leadership and hospital staff to maintain fiscal responsibility and operational continuity.

The interim CFO will direct all financial departments, covering general accounting, patient business services, third-party reimbursement, and statutory reporting. The role also supports the CEO in developing operational and capital plans, preparing cash flow analyses, and ensuring financial reports accurately reflect each facility's position.

• Oversee general accounting, patient business services, third-party reimbursement, and financial and statistical reporting in line with established policies.
• Direct data processing, distributed systems, materials management, and medical records functions as required.
• Develop long and short-range operational and capital budgets aligned with hospital plans and objectives.
• Prepare cash flow analyses and budget variance analyses, and recommend modifications where needed.
• Monitor and analyse hospital financial performance against established plans, identifying adverse trends and potential opportunities.
• Ensure timely submission of all financial data and reports required by government and regulatory bodies, including payroll tax and third-party payor cost reports.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with solid knowledge of GAAP required; CPA or Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience operating at CFO level within an acute-care hospital setting.
• Experience in a progressive management role within an investor-owned healthcare organisation is preferred.
• Strong hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and engage staff to achieve high performance.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across hospital leadership teams.
