Fractional Ministry HR Director (Texas Residents Only)

Ministry HR Group is a Texas-based consulting firm providing specialist HR services to Christian ministries, churches and mission organisations. The Fractional HR Director role serves as an embedded consulting leader within client management teams, delivering full-suite HR design across recruiting, compensation, benefits, performance management, employee engagement, compliance and organisational development, all within a ministry-specific context.

The position is part-time (25 to 35 hours per week), Monday through Friday during core hours of 9am to 4pm CT. It is remote but restricted to Texas residents, with some on-site meetings in the Dallas area. The role reports directly to the CEO and Co-Founder of Ministry HR Group. Qualified candidates must have at least five years of HR leadership experience within a Christian ministry, church or mission organisation, given the highly specialised nature of ministry HR law and practice.

• Lead HR strategy design and programme implementation for ministry and church clients
• Advise client leadership teams on people practices within a ministry or mission context
• Manage all areas of HR including recruiting, compensation, benefits, training, performance management and compliance
• Guide clients on ministry-specific legal requirements such as ministerial exceptions, deputised fundraising and parsonage allowances
• Drive cultural transformation and organisational development initiatives for client organisations
• Attend scheduled client and internal team meetings and maintain accountability to agreed deliverables

• Minimum 7 years of experience as an HR Director with responsibility across all HR functions
• Minimum 5 years of HR leadership specifically within a Christian ministry, church or mission organisation
• Deep knowledge of ministry HR law including ministerial exceptions, religious non-profit hiring and parsonage compensation
• Degree in Human Resources or Business Leadership, or equivalent professional experience
• Current US-based professional HR certification (SHRM or HRCI preferred)
• Based in Texas; ability to travel to the Dallas area for on-site client meetings
