Authentic Ego is seeking a fractional SEO and AEO lead to define organic search strategy, site architecture, and AI discovery visibility for a growing clinical skincare brand.
Authentic Ego, a science-first clinical skincare brand, is hiring a fractional Head of AEO/SEO to lead both strategy and execution across organic search and AI-powered discovery channels. The role sits at the intersection of technical SEO, content architecture, and emerging AI search platforms including ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.
The company has grown largely through organic demand and referrals, and is now rebuilding its website with a stronger organic acquisition strategy. This is a senior, hands-on engagement with equity participation and a market-rate salary that activates upon completion of a Seed round. Commitment is 10 to 20 hours per week, fully remote within the USA or Canada.
- Define the AEO, GEO, and SEO architecture for the new website, including URL structure and internal linking
- Develop content templates and schema strategy to support rankings, AI citations, and conversion
- Ensure the site is crawlable and indexable across search engines and relevant AI platforms
- Build an authority and digital PR strategy in collaboration with the VP of Marketing and Founder
- Improve the brand's entity footprint and third-party corroboration across the web
- Establish reporting frameworks covering rankings, organic traffic, AI citations, and share of model
- Senior technical SEO experience, including new-site architecture and migration projects
- Practical experience improving brand or website visibility within AI-generated answers
- Direct-to-consumer or e-commerce brand experience
- Strong grasp of structured data, content architecture, and technical indexing principles
- Ability to work accurately with scientific, clinical, and technical product claims
- Experience in skincare, beauty, health, or another evidence-led category is preferred
