The Rest is Tech is seeking a self-employed franchisee to build and lead an independent fractional tech leadership practice, advising SME and SMB clients across CIO, CTO, and CISO disciplines on a commission basis.
This is a franchise opportunity with The Rest is Tech, a technology consultancy that places fractional CIO, CTO, and CISO specialists inside SME and SMB businesses. The franchisee operates independently but under an established brand, with access to shared marketing resources, an existing talent pool, and ongoing support from the broader team.
The role centres on client acquisition and strategic advisory work, helping organisations navigate digital transformation, process automation, and cybersecurity at a cost well below a full-time executive hire. Engagement structures start from one day per quarter, giving flexibility to build a portfolio of clients over time. Compensation is entirely commission-based.
- Identify, approach, and onboard SME and SMB clients requiring fractional technology leadership.
- Provide strategic advisory services across CIO, CTO, and CISO disciplines to client organisations.
- Leverage the franchise network and existing team of experts to support client delivery.
- Develop and maintain a personal client portfolio, managing ongoing relationships and renewals.
- Collaborate with The Rest is Tech on business development and brand-aligned marketing activity.
- Proven senior experience in technology leadership, such as CIO, CTO, CISO, or equivalent roles.
- Established professional network within the UK SME or SMB sector.
- Demonstrated ability to acquire and manage client relationships independently.
- Comfortable operating on a self-employed, commission-based model.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of digital transformation and cybersecurity trends.
