A financial services organisation requires an Interim CIO/CTO to lead the technology integration of two businesses, defining a scalable technology vision and unified infrastructure over a 12-month engagement.
A leading financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Interim CIO/CTO to provide strategic and hands-on leadership through a critical integration of two businesses. The executive will define and execute a combined technology vision, ensuring scalability, operational resilience, and alignment with long-term business objectives. The engagement is expected to run for 12 months or more, with hybrid attendance requirements to be confirmed.
The mandate calls for a leader who has guided organisations through complex integrations, aligning business and technology stakeholders while designing a modern, unified technology environment. The role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and requires both strategic clarity and hands-on execution capability.
- Partner with executive leadership across both entities to define and architect the future-state technology stack, aligned to growth and operational priorities.
- Design and implement a scalable infrastructure and operating model, including governance, support processes, and service delivery capabilities.
- Lead the evaluation, rationalisation, and selection of applications, balancing legacy systems with new solutions to create an integrated ecosystem.
- Assess current technology and delivery teams, define future talent requirements, and mentor leadership to strengthen capability and succession planning.
- Drive integration execution including platform consolidation, data strategy alignment, and risk mitigation to minimise operational disruption.
- Provide strategic guidance through business architecture and technology decision-making discussions at the executive level.
- 10 or more years of experience in senior technology leadership roles such as CIO, CTO, or Chief Architect within banking, insurance, or large consumer finance organisations.
- Demonstrated success leading end-to-end technology and business integrations across organisations with differing platforms and operating models.
- Deep experience influencing executive-level stakeholders through complex business architecture and transformation decisions.
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments including core systems, digital platforms, infrastructure, and data architecture.
- Proven ability to build, assess, and develop high-performing teams with a track record of mentoring senior technology leaders.
- Pragmatic, results-oriented approach with the ability to balance strategic design and hands-on execution in an interim context.
