Job Details

PagerDuty is seeking an Interim Director of Communications to lead global communications strategy during a high-growth period. You will oversee PR and media relations, social media, and internal communications whilst managing a team of three professionals and five global agencies. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, requiring you to maintain momentum for global PR efforts whilst ensuring cohesive storytelling across all channels.

The position offers an opportunity to drive communications for organisational shifts and product evolution whilst serving as a high-level strategist navigating platform narratives for media. You'll work closely with the Chief Communications Officer and executive team to protect and promote the PagerDuty brand both externally and internally to the global workforce.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead global PR and media strategy, maintaining momentum across regional agencies with regular alignment calls
  • Oversee quarterly research studies and partner with executives on thought leadership content for Agentic AI
  • Drive internal communications strategy including monthly Town Halls and executive announcements
  • Manage change communications for organisational shifts whilst ensuring brand voice consistency
  • Execute high-impact media briefings and oversee global awards calendar for industry recognition
  • Deliver comprehensive reporting on share of voice, sentiment, and media impact against competitors
Job Requirments
  • 12+ years of experience in corporate communications, PR, or external and internal communications
  • 5+ years managing PR agencies and leading high-performing internal teams
  • Proven experience in executive coaching and ghostwriting for C-suite leaders
  • Experience managing large-scale internal events and complex change management initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or equivalent experience
