Fractional CFO/Controller - Build & Scale a Practice

Dark Horse CPAs seeks a Fractional CFO/Controller to join their CAS Accelerator program - a principal, ownership-track position designed for experienced finance professionals looking to build or scale their practice. You'll work with clients navigating growth, complexity, transactions, and change, handling everything from financial cleanups to systems implementation and business transformations.

This role offers marketing, sales, and operational support within a collaborative team environment. Dark Horse provides qualified leads, business development coaching, technology infrastructure, and back-office support so you can focus on delivering exceptional client experiences whilst building towards equity partnership.

• Build and grow a recurring fractional CFO/Controller practice to £250k+ annual revenue
• Act as trusted financial leader for multiple clients simultaneously
• Guide clients through operational change, uncertainty, and business transformations
• Navigate complex financial situations from cleanups to systems selection and implementation
• Collaborate with Dark Horse team members and leverage offshore staffing resources
• Participate in business development activities and client relationship management

• Experience in fractional CFO or controller roles, or strong desire to launch own practice
• Proven track record in financial leadership and client relationship management
• Ability to work independently whilst thriving in team environment
• Strong business judgement and flexibility to handle diverse client situations
• Willingness to receive coaching and feedback for continuous improvement
• 10-20 hours per week availability for part-time engagement
