Avoca Search is recruiting an Interim CFO on behalf of a physician-led healthcare organisation entering a period of ambulatory expansion and strategic transformation. The successful candidate will serve as the senior financial leader for a large multi-specialty medical group, working closely with physician and operational leaders to strengthen financial performance and support long-term growth. Northern California healthcare market experience is strongly preferred, given the importance of regional payer, physician, and ambulatory care knowledge.
This is a part-time contract engagement suited to experienced healthcare CFOs who can assess opportunities quickly, build stakeholder credibility, and deliver immediate impact across financial planning, revenue cycle, and value-based care readiness.
- Lead all medical group finance functions including budgeting, forecasting, and performance management
- Partner with physician leadership to optimise provider compensation models and practice economics
- Drive revenue cycle improvement initiatives to enhance margins and operational efficiency
- Support ambulatory expansion, value-based care readiness, and financial evaluation of new programmes
- Deliver data-driven financial insights to executive and physician leaders as a trusted strategic adviser
- Assess financial sustainability and identify opportunities for long-term improvement
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader within physician-led or multi-specialty healthcare organisations
- Deep knowledge of Northern California healthcare market dynamics including payer and ambulatory care environments
- Strong background in revenue cycle management and provider compensation structuring
- Experience supporting strategic growth initiatives including ambulatory expansion and value-based care models
- Ability to build credibility quickly with physician and operational stakeholders
- Available for a part-time interim engagement of 10 to 20 hours per week
