Interim CFO

Join Ascent CFO Solutions as an Interim CFO, stepping into organisations during critical transition periods across startups, scale-ups, and privately held companies. You'll provide immediate executive-level financial leadership, ensuring continuity and strategic direction while maintaining business momentum. Working with a diverse portfolio of clients in technology, SaaS, manufacturing, healthcare, and other industries, you'll support transformation, rapid growth, fundraising, M&A, and exit preparation initiatives.

This full-time contractor role requires approximately 40 hours per week, serving as a trusted advisor to CEOs and executive teams. You'll be accountable for client satisfaction, deliverable accuracy, and overall engagement success across multiple client engagements simultaneously.

• Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with business goals
• Build and maintain financial models, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections
• Lead budgeting processes and analyse budget-to-actual performance
• Support and lead fundraising efforts, including venture capital and private equity transactions
• Lead M&A initiatives, including due diligence, valuation support, and post-acquisition integration
• Present financial results and strategic insights to Boards of Directors and shareholders

• 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Several years serving as a full-time CFO
• Bachelor's degree required; CPA licence and/or MBA strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience as a strategic financial leader and executive partner
• Proven success working with fast-growth companies
• Strong background in M&A, including due diligence and integration
