Chief Financial Officer (Part-Time, CPA) at Ascendo Resources

This 6-month part-time engagement is with a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation operating in the arts and entertainment sector in Miami, Florida. The role is primarily remote, with one brief office visit per week to review financials with the Executive Director and Director of Finance. A CPA is required; prior experience in not-for-profit accounting is preferred but not mandatory.

The CFO or Controller will manage month-end close, oversee general ledger and bank reconciliations, handle treasury functions, and ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS when recording and monitoring state and federal grant funds. Experience with system migrations is viewed favourably.

• Prepare and review the month-end close process, including general ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
• Review, evaluate, and implement financial policies and procedures
• Evaluate and allocate state and federal grants and donations in line with contractual and legal requirements
• Monitor grant recognition on financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS
• Conduct balance sheet reviews and manage treasury functions
• Liaise with the Executive Director and Director of Finance during weekly on-site meetings

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a CFO or Controller
• Bachelor's degree with a focus on Accounting or Finance
• Active CPA certification required
• Advanced Excel skills
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online preferred
• Experience with system migrations an advantage
