Bellweather Agency seeks a Fractional CMO to help scale its creative agency operations, overseeing strategy and creative teams across nonprofit, cultural, and government client accounts.
Bellweather Agency is a remote-first creative agency that works with legacy brands including nonprofits, cultural institutions, and government organisations. As the agency grows, the two Co-CEOs need an experienced fractional CMO to share ownership of client engagements and bring structure to the strategy and creative teams. The role requires roughly 20 to 30 hours per week, with Eastern time zone availability preferred.
Six months into the engagement, success means the team is carrying more of the day-to-day account work independently, and engagements are scaling smoothly as new clients come on board. You will work closely with Co-CEO Emily Lessard, department leads, and account teams across the agency's portfolio, which includes clients such as Brooklyn Public Library, MetroPlusHealth, and Visit Baltimore.
- Oversee strategy and creative team output across multiple client accounts, maintaining quality as the agency scales
- Partner with the Co-CEOs to establish structures that reduce executive dependency on individual engagements
- Provide senior marketing leadership and direction across nonprofit, cultural, and government client work
- Collaborate with department leads to align creative and strategic processes
- Support account teams in delivering brand strategy and creative platforms to clients
- Contribute to agency growth by helping onboard and manage larger engagements
- Proven experience as a CMO or senior marketing leader, ideally within an agency environment
- Background working with mission-driven organisations such as nonprofits, cultural institutions, or government bodies
- Demonstrated ability to build team structures and delegate effectively in a growing organisation
- Strong brand strategy and creative oversight capabilities
- Comfortable working fully remotely with availability during Eastern time zone hours
- Experience managing multiple client engagements simultaneously at a senior level
