Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

A distribution company in growth mode is looking for a Fractional CFO to provide interim financial leadership during a transition period lasting approximately seven months, with potential for extension. The role sits within the Finance and Accounting department and spans oversight of accounting, financial reporting, human resources support, credit, collections, and both payables and receivables teams.

The engagement runs 10 to 20 hours per week on a hybrid basis in Canton, OH. The ideal candidate brings deep financial acumen, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to mentor an existing team while partnering with executive leadership on strategic priorities and growth initiatives.

• Provide interim financial leadership to ensure continuity of accounting, reporting, and business operations during the CFO transition.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, cash flow management, banking relationships, and financial planning activities.
• Mentor, coach, and develop the finance and accounting team to strengthen capabilities and support leadership growth.
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic financial decisions, capital projects, and customer and banking relationships.
• Monitor financial systems, reporting processes, and key operational projects including fiscal year-end activities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of seven years of progressive financial leadership experience.
• Prior experience in a Controller, CFO, Fractional CFO, or senior finance leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and close processes.
• Ability to lead and influence teams within a collaborative, family-owned business environment.
