A confidential New York-based professional services firm requires an Interim CFO to oversee finance and accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and KPI reporting during a period of transition and growth.
This interim engagement supports a confidential professional services organisation based in New York. The Interim CFO will partner with executive leadership to bring structure, visibility, and financial discipline to a complex, client-services business during a transition period. The role spans the full finance and accounting function, from day-to-day operations through to board-level reporting.
Candidates with backgrounds in professional services, project-based revenue models, utilisation metrics, and client or service-line profitability analysis will be well placed for this role. Experience supporting organisations through operational transitions and building scalable finance processes is highly regarded.
- Lead finance and accounting operations across the interim engagement period
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial reporting
- Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy, business performance, and operating priorities
- Build or refine KPIs, dashboards, and reporting covering revenue, margin, utilisation, headcount, and client profitability
- Assess current financial processes, controls, systems, and reporting cadence
- Support board, investor, or senior leadership reporting as required
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a professional services or client-services environment
- Familiarity with project-based revenue, utilisation metrics, and profitability analysis by client or service line
- Demonstrated ability to develop KPIs, dashboards, and executive-level financial reporting
- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow in complex organisations
- Strong track record of building scalable finance processes and strengthening financial controls
- Comfortable operating in an interim or fractional capacity during periods of organisational transition
