Part-Time Chief Financial Officer

Phileo Shared Services is looking for a part-time CFO to take ownership of financial leadership across its affiliated Christian schools. Reporting directly to the Head of School, the CFO will be responsible for budgeting, long-range forecasting, audit preparation, GAAP compliance, and board-level financial reporting. The role is fully remote with flexible scheduling and occasional in-person attendance required in the greater Philadelphia region.

This position suits an experienced finance leader with a background in nonprofit or educational settings who can build strong financial systems, manage a small finance team, and provide clear strategic counsel to school leadership and board committees.

• Lead financial strategy and planning across all Phileo Shared Services partner schools
• Direct annual budget preparation and long-range financial forecasting, monitoring actuals against targets
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, applicable regulations, and all internal and external reporting requirements
• Oversee preparation and execution of annual audits, liaising with external auditors
• Identify financial and operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
• Supervise the finance team and attend board finance committee and strategic planning meetings

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
• Seven or more years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit or educational organisations
• Solid understanding of GAAP, nonprofit accounting principles, and financial compliance
• Demonstrated experience with audits, financial planning, and board-level reporting
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Alignment with the organisation's Christian mission and values
