Fractional Chief Financial Officer

A fast-growing advanced manufacturing business serving the Life Sciences sector is preparing for private equity investment. The company has strong commercial momentum and differentiated manufacturing capabilities but requires significant finance function professionalisation to meet institutional standards.

As Fractional CFO, you'll work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to elevate financial reporting, implement robust systems, and support transaction execution. This hands-on role combines strategic leadership with operational delivery in a historically founder-led environment.

• Partner with CEO to develop financial strategy aligned to growth and exit objectives
• Provide commercial insight across manufacturing operations including product profitability and pricing strategy
• Support capital investment decisions for automation and scaling production capacity
• Build and embed KPIs covering revenue, margins, utilisation, and working capital
• Lead financial readiness for private equity transaction with advisors
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and EBITDA normalisation processes
• Act as key management representative during due diligence and investor presentations
• Professionalise finance function through systems implementation and strengthened controls

• Experienced CFO or Finance Director with strong PE-backed business track record
• Background in advanced manufacturing, Life Sciences, or regulated industrial environments preferred
• Proven experience leading finance function professionalisation in growing SMEs
• Hands-on transaction experience including sell-side PE processes
• Strong commercial mindset with ability to partner founders and non-finance stakeholders
• Comfortable operating in fast-scaling, imperfect environments
